Prohibited Items Policy
Last updated: [launch date] · Operator: NatWebSolutions
This list is part of our Terms of Service. Listing a prohibited item may result in the listing being removed and your account suspended or banned. This list is UAE-specific — items legal to list elsewhere may be illegal to list here.
Never allowed
- Weapons of any kind — firearms, ammunition, air/BB/paintball guns, swords, knives marketed as weapons, stun guns, and replicas that resemble real weapons.
- Drones and remote-controlled aircraft — restricted under UAE civil aviation rules; do not list without proof of registration/permit, and we default to blocking these outright at launch.
- Signal jammers and any device designed to block or interfere with radio, GPS, or telecoms signals.
- Drugs, controlled substances, and drug paraphernalia — including items primarily marketed for consuming controlled substances.
- Alcohol and tobacco/vapes/e-cigarettes — regulated goods requiring a specific licence to sell; not permitted on a peer-to-peer listings platform.
- Prescription medication, medical devices requiring a prescription, and any medicine.
- Counterfeit or replica goods — anything represented as, or likely to be mistaken for, a genuine branded product it is not.
- Stolen goods or any item you do not have clear legal right to sell.
- Live animals, and any animal parts protected under UAE or international law (ivory, protected species products).
- Government-issued documents and IDs — passports, Emirates ID, driving licences, certificates, or anything designed to forge them.
- Hazardous materials — explosives, fireworks, flammable chemicals, radioactive material, compressed gas cylinders.
- Adult content and services — sexual content, or any listing that is actually an offer of a service (including sexual services) rather than a physical item.
- Currency, financial instruments, and gift cards — cash, cryptocurrency, gift cards, vouchers, or anything whose primary value is as a payment instrument.
- Recalled products or anything subject to an active safety recall.
Not allowed without exemption
- Prize draws, raffles, or lottery-style listings — a listing must be a direct sale at a stated or offered price, not a chance-based mechanism.
- Anything requiring a specific UAE trade licence to sell (e.g. certain electronics classes, medical equipment) that a private individual seller would not hold.
Why this exists
Streetmarket is for people selling their own used belongings. It is not a storefront for regulated goods, and — because all handover happens in person with no platform oversight — items that are dangerous, illegal, or require a licence to transfer put both buyer and seller at real risk. If you're unsure whether an item is allowed, don't list it — contact us first.
Reporting
If you see a listing that shouldn't be here, report it from the listing page. We review reports and typically act within 24 hours.
